HOW DID YOU MEET?

Calculus lab (I know, suuuuuper romantic)! He was late to class and there were only two seats left – one next to a guy and one next to me (naturally he chose the latter). He started talking, very quickly became my best friend, and (before I knew it) the absolute love of my life.

YOUR PROPOSAL STORY

There’s a beautiful dog park in Austin (Red Bud Isle) that we love taking our pup, Cooper, to. It really is one of the most beautiful and tranquil places. Neil knew it would be the perfect place to propose where he could include Coop. In November, he took me to Austin for a day trip and I came back home to Houston as a fiancé!

WHAT WAS MOST IMPORTANT TO YOU GOING INTO YOUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION?

Feeling comfortable – I don’t always feel the best in my own skin so working with someone who not only had beautiful work but also had a warm, welcoming personality was super important.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THE SESSION? (Yumna)

Getting in the water! I was SO nervous about every little thing – messing up my hair, getting my dress (which Ashley so kindly provided from her incredible collection) wet, accidentally drowning Neil…but Ashley was so encouraging and got me comfortable enough to just DO IT and I adored every second. The photos from this part of the day are my absolute favorites now.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THE SESSION? (Neil)

I liked being able to try new poses! I would have never thought to bring out a stool but I felt cool and it looked cool.

Working with these cuties was a the best! It started with them taking the time to hop on a zoom call with me. This was everything because I was able get to know their personality as a couple and talk through important details that helped me to curate their dream engagement photos. During our call, Yumna expressed she wanted their images to have an editorial flare and showcase their playful, authentic love for one another. She had seen a previous engagement session I did at the beach and decided it would be the perfect backdrop for their session – it was!

Most importantly, they are two incredibly kind hearted and fun humans. I walked away from their session with a huge smile and heart filled with gratitude because I had SO much fun working with them!
