HOW DID YOU MEET?
Geoff and I met at work – he moved from Dallas after accepting a job offer at the company that I worked for in College Station because he had a friend that recommended him. After working together for a few months, we had become friends. One day, Geoff started dropping hints that he was newly single amongst a group conversation. I didn’t think anything of it at the time but looking back, it seems that the hints were directed towards me. Within a few days of that conversation, I was invited to an after-work outing with some friends and Geoff was there. We quickly hit it off that evening. A few weeks into the “talking” phase (fellow millennials will understand), Geoff let it slip in a casual introduction that I was his girlfriend. Funny thing is… Geoff never officially asked me to be his girlfriend. As you can imagine, this was an inside joke for years.
HOW DID YOUR PROPOSAL HAPPEN?
Geoff proposed on January 7th, 2022 at the Stella Hotel in College Station. During quarantine, Geoff and I would often grab coffee and walk our dog, Finley, around the Stella each morning. He quickly determined this would be the perfect location as they have a stage that overlooks a pond that is truly beautiful at sunset. Geoff plotted with my friends to surprise me. My friends picked me up after work and we headed to “dinner and drinks” (or so I thought). We ended up at the Stella and my friend suggested that we take our drinks outside on the patio. However, when we walked outside, Geoff was standing up on the stage with roses and my dream engagement ring. I said yes and the rest is history.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR WEDDING
The venue was my main source of inspiration. My décor style at home is Modern Farmhouse so I fell in love with The Farmhouse as soon as I saw the pictures online. We toured a few days later and booked with The Farmhouse on the same day as the tour. The other element of our wedding that made it my dream wedding were the florals. Monica’s Brides and Touch of Glitz Flowers was recommended to me by my wedding planner and they did a truly amazing job at bringing my vision to life. Our wedding colors were white and sage so we used only white flowers and sage was incorporated using a lot of eucalyptus.
FAVORITE WEDDING DAY MOMENTS
My favorite moment was when the chapel doors opened during the ceremony right before I walked down the aisle. I was a ball of nerves prior and had to wait for approximately 30 minutes prior to walking down to the chapel to ensure everyone was seated. My nerves kept building during the waiting period but as soon as those chapel doors opened, I saw my future husbands face and we just smiled at each other. The nerves faded within minutes and everything else was breeze that evening because we were back by each others side.

ADVICE FOR NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLES
Definitely hire a wedding planner or at minimum, a day of coordinator. Our wedding planner, Finishing Touch Weddings & Events, was truly amazing to work with and we did not have to lift a finger on the day of our wedding outside of getting ourselves dressed. Enjoy the entire planning process because your wedding day will arrive before you know it!
FUTURE RIVERS LIGHT COUPLES
